Courtney Radsch, Advocacy Director of the Committee to Protect Journalists, discusses the dangers that journalists currently face while reporting throughout the world. Most notably, the number of imprisoned journalists has hit a record high, with at least 259 journalists jailed in 2016. The CPJ reported that the increase was in part due to a surge of imprisonments in Turkey after the failed military coup against President Erdogan in July.
