JAMES “BABYDOLL” DIXON is an American talent agent for some of the biggest household names in comedy and television today, like Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Adam Corolla, Carson Daly, and Jon Stewart just to name a few. Dixon started out at the William Morris Agency in what is known as the mail room training program, infamous within the industry, where you can find Ivy League graduates literally sorting the mail. Eventually he became a talent agent for WMA and spearheaded the agency’s comedy division from 1985-1999. In 2000, he then moved later on to being an agent for creative artists agency as well as leading the comedy arm of Michael Ovitz’ artists management group. In 2001, James developed the New York-based boutique firm, Dixon Talent Inc, which has amassed an enviable roster of clients throughout the years. After 14 years with his independent talent agency, William Morris Endeavor and IMG acquired Dixon’s firm while allowing Dixon to succeed at remaining as a separate entity altogether for his clients. At the time of the acquisition, WME- IMG Co-CEO proudly stated that, “James has built his business on two core philosophies that are intrinsic to WME: A belief in great talent and applying an entrepreneurial approach to representation.” In addition, Dixon has been involved with several successful television series such as “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “King of Queens,” “The Man Show,” “The Colbert Report,” and “The Daily Show.”
