The Environmental Protection Agency’s latest report says formaldehyde is one of the most commonly used chemicals in the country. It can be found in cosmetics, synthetic fabrics, most wooden furniture, and is an air pollutant near major refineries. This EPA report warns that most Americans inhale enough formaldehyde vapor in the course of daily life to put them at risk of developing leukemia and other serious ailments. However, while EPA scientists want to release the report, those working under the Trump administration are trying to block their efforts.
