Alexis Clark discusses her new book, Enemies in Love: A German POW, a Black Nurse, and an Unlikely Romance. Based on a true story, the book tells the love story of Elinor Powell, an African American nurse in the U.S. military during World War II, and Frederick Albert, a soldier in Hitler’s army who was captured by the Allies and shipped to a prisoner-of-war camp in the Arizona desert. Clark offers a unique historical perspective about how the two met and fell in love in the most unlikely of circumstances. This segment is guest hosted by Jonathan Capehart.
