Philip Ashforth Coppola discusses his new book of pen-and-ink drawings, One Track Mind. Coppola has spent the last forty years documenting the artistry and decoration of New York City’s subway stations. The overlooked mosaics and relief sculptures featured in the book are recreated in painstaking detail and reveal how Coppola’s keen eye takes in the living history of the city. Phil’s subway art is on exhibit at the NY Transit Museum Grand Central Station Annex through June 24. Mr. Coppola will be at The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen on May 22 at 6:30 pm, at [words] Bookstore on May 24 at 7:30 pm, and at Rizzoli Bookstore on June 11 at 6 pm. This segment is guest hosted Arun Venugopal.
