Gillian Armstrong is the Australian director behind My Brilliant Career, Mrs. Soffel, and Little Women. She talks about her career as a director and producer and shares her thoughts on the state of the Australian film industry. Armstrong is one of several guests in New York for the Australian International Screen Forum, which connects the New York film industry with its Australian counterparts. The newly restored version of her 1982 comedy musical, Starstruck, will be shown on March 21 at The Film Society of Lincoln Center (144 West 65th Street). Armstrong will also participate in the "Women in Film" panel on March 22 at The Film Society of Lincoln Center.  This segment is guest hosted by Jonathan Capehart.
