In the 1990's, Lewiston, Maine was a small, overwhelmingly white town in the whitest state in America. Then it started welcoming African immigrants - 7,000 in total - and its non-white population surged more than 800 percent. In One Goal: A Coach, a Team, and the Game That Brought a Divided Town Together, journalist Amy Bass follows this transformation through the story of the soccer team that united Somali immigrants and white Lewiston residents. Amy Bass will give a reading at Buffalo Street Books in Ithaca, NY on March 7th at 4:30 p.m.  This segment is guest hosted by Arun Venugopal.
