Eric Berryman and Kate Valk join us to discuss the Wooster Group’s “The B-Side: ‘Negro Folklore From Texas State Prisons.’” The show uses live singers and performers to build on top of songs from the 1965 album “Negro Folklore from Texas State Prisons.” Creator/lead performer Eric Berryman was inspired to create the show after seeing the troupe’s "Early Shaker Spirituals" performance in 2014. Kate Valk directs the project.  The Wooster Group's  “The B-Side: ‘Negro Folklore From Texas State Prisons'" runs through Nov. 19 at the Performing Garage (33 Wooster St., between Grand St. & Broome) in SoHo.
