Gig Alert: Madame Gandhi at The Sculpture Garden at MoMATickets: Free with Museum Admission. Show at 6:30PM
Madame Gandhi is the stage name of the Indian-born singer, drummer, and feminist Kiran Gandhi. She played in MIA’s band while simultaneously studying for an MBA at Harvard, so doing two things at once doesn’t faze her. So her music serves a creative purpose, and as she puts it, “elevates and celebrates the female voice.” Madame Gandhi performs as part of the Summer Thursday concert series at MOMA in the sculpture garden tonight. The event is free with museum admission.
