Director Bill Morrison joins us to discuss his new film “Dawson City: Frozen Time.” The documentary tells the story of how more than 500 nitrate film prints from the 1910s and 1920s were recovered from a Canadian town that boomed during the Klondike Gold Rush. Morrison explores the stories these films tell as well as what the collection's history says about Dawson City.
"Dawson City: Frozen Time" opens on June 9 at the IFC Center (323 6th Ave.). Bill Morrison and composer Alex Somers will appear for a Q&A after the 6 p.m. show on June 9. The event will be moderated by Lawrence Weschler.
Morrison and Somers will also appear after the 6 p.m. screenings on June 10 and 11.
