Gig Alert: American Composers Orchestra at Carnegie's Zankel HallTickets: $43-$51, Show at 7:30PM The Pulitzer Prize winning composer Steve Reich turned 80 in October, but the classical music world loves to stretch these birthday celebrations out over a whole season – and you don’t hear Reich complaining. Tonight, the American Composers Orchestra gets into the act, with a concert featuring one of Steve Reich’s great pieces from the 1980s, called "Tehillim," based on the cantillation or chanting of the Hebrew psalms. "Tehillim," along with works by some of the many younger composers he’s influenced, will be on the program tonight at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall with the American Composers Orchestra.
