Gary Vikan, a medieval scholar and former Director of the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, joins us to discuss his latest book, Sacred and Stolen: Confessions of a Museum Director. Vikan takes us inside the world of museum antiquities, and details the long (sometimes criminal) road that artifacts take to get to museums. He also discusses the ethical and legal challenges of dealing with sellers, stolen artifacts and fakes.
