Irish singer/songwriter and guitarist Lisa Hannigan got her start as a member of Damien Rice’s band back in the early oughts when he was a hot ticket on the indie music scene, and she’s been making records on her own since 2007. Water has been a recurring image in her songs, and her latest album is called At Swim. Produced by Aaron Dessner of the indie rock band The National, At Swim is full of gauzy vocals and subtly layered instrumental textures- including banjo on a song called "Undertow." Ireland’s Lisa Hannigan is playing tonight at the Bowery Ballroom.
