John Cohen, photographer, musician, filmmaker, folklorist and member of the New Lost City Ramblers, joins us to discuss his life and work in film, which are the subject of a series of screenings at the Anthology Film Archives. As a musician, Cohen has released over 20 albums with the New Lost City Ramblers. His photographs and films have been exhibited by museums, galleries and at film festivals. His steadfast campaign for the recognition of traditional roots/folk music has led to the production of 15 films, hundreds of photographs and sound recordings. There will be screenings of John's movies at the Anthology Film Archives at 32 2nd Ave. throughout Saturday, January 28th and throughout Sunday, January 29th. For more information, click here. The 10th Street Art World, 1957-1963, an exhibition of vintage and early photographs by John Cohen, is running through February 11th at L.
