On Tuesday, Carrie Fisher died at the age of 60, and the very next day, this past Wednesday, Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, died at the age of 84. They were both Hollywood icons. Reynolds became a household name for her role in “Singin’ in the Rain,” and Fisher was best known for her role as Princess Leia in the original "Star Wars" film. In 1988, Leonard spoke to Debbie Reynolds about the dark side of making some of her more iconic, and lighthearted, films, and she also discussed her conflicted feelings about seeing her daughter, Carrie Fisher, entering the film industry. In 2004 Carrie Fisher came into the studio to discuss her novel "The Best Awful," her sequel to her first, and best-selling, novel "Postcards From the Edge." And in 2008, we had another opportunity to speak to Carrie Fisher about her new memoir "Wishful Drinking," an open, honest, and yet surprisingly comedic look about her own experiences with alcoholism, drug addiction, mental illness, and death. We are replaying those interviews for you now.
