Filmmaker Joao Moreira Salles discusses his new documentary, In the Intense Now. Inspired by Chris Marker’s meditative essays on political radicalism, Salles uses archival footage, newsreel clips and home movies from the 1960's to showcase uprisings in Paris, the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, and the Cultural Revolution in China. In the Intense Now opens at Film Forum on January 31. Salles will appear for a Q&A at the 7 pm screenings on Wednesday, January 31 and Friday, February 2.
